Meet Miss Tomlin

Shantelle Tomlin’s passion for teaching and learning began at an early age during her tenure at the Children’s Home in Wichita, Kansas. She knew at an early age that she wanted to work with children; specifically, underprivileged children. Upon earning her B.A. in Secondary Education and her B.A. in English from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she started substituting in the inner city. Miss Tomlin landed her first teaching job at Wyandotte High School in 2005. While teaching she earned two additional degrees. In addition, she was selected to participate in the Teacher Leader Program for the Kansas City Missouri School District. Her passion for learning is indescribable. She believes that all children are destined for success and NO child should ever have a dream deferred. Equipping children to be life-long learners is not an option rather a duty. Miss Tomlin stays busy serving the community by helping children achieve academic success.
